tips from michelle

Michelle Obama has quickly risen to be a fashion icon for American women today. She continually shows us how to rework our favorite pieces. If I really like something, I try to figure out how to wear it with multiple outfits to get the most use out of it. And in this economy, what better way to be a recessionista?

Anyone who knows me would not hesitate to share that I am obsessed with leopard print! The fact that it is pink leopard print as well probably means I would wear this sweater even in my sleep. Michelle is a great example of how you can wear color at work and still be taken seriously. I never would have thought of wearing pinstripe pants with a leopard print, but as long as one pattern isn't as bold as the other it can look good.

Then Michelle was seen wearing the same sweater with a dress instead of pants. When I travel, I pack a sweater that can be worn with both my jeans or a dress so I have less to pack. Not only did she switch up her bottoms, she even changed the belt to look more appropriate with her dress. Don't forget that when you wear one item in several different outfits you may have to change the accessories each time.

Wedding Treats

His and her wedding food? Yes, it's true! I found a few ideas of foods dressed like the bride and groom. I would most definitely have these at my wedding, although some are too cute to eat!

Bride and Groom Chocolate Covered Strawberries. These treats are perfect party favors or an excellent addition to cake.

Bride and Groom Frosted Cupcakes. Who doesn't like cupcakes? These are good choice for both adults and their kids to enjoy.

Bride and Groom Candy Apples. These are absolutely adorable! These can be party favors too but I think they look cute as part of the centerpieces for a dessert table.

high ponys

Ponytails are so easy that they have become a standard style for everyday. By varying the height you can accomplish several different styles, from low key to classy. Salma Hayek has the most beautiful glossy hair and it looks stunning pulled back in a sleek pony. A little volume at the crown keeps it from looking too stiff.

Beyonce always have gorgeous hair, but I particularly love her version of a high ponytail. Its tight crown is a nice contrast to her flowing ends. Ponytails are a great option when you want to show off a fabulous pair of earrings!

Lucy Lui also has a tight crown but it doesn't look severe because the ends of her hair are slighlty curled. A piece of hair covering the elastic is very sophisticated.
